DOUBLE GAME !

By Dr Pravin Togadia
DOUBLE GAME !

IF a child at home says to his/her mother that he/she likes to drink milk but also does not like to drink milk then the mother scolds the child for being manipulative and confused. Now read these:

We have 5,113 nuclear weapons. But we want all other countries to give up their nuclear weapons. -An American report

The 9/11 jihadi attack was planned in Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden was the mastermind. So we are attacking Afghanistan. -The then American government

New York Time Square failed a jihadi attack handled by a Pak origin man Faisal Shahzad and he was trained in Pakistan; more Pakistani citizens living in Pakistan are involved. We will find out the planners abroad. -Eric Holder, American Attorney General.

India is our reliable friend and Pakistan is our close bother (Meaning? We would never attack Pakistan how much ever Pak may plan attacks on us or on India or run training camps!). -American Foreign Secretary Mrs Clinton

We are secular. We don want communal forces to rule the country. -Many political parties leaders (But we would give reservations to non-Hindus based on religion!)

Pak is running the terror training camps and using its army to handle terror attacks on India. Hafiz Saeed has proclaimed jihad against India in his speeches in Pak -many related to the current Indian government keep saying this. (But the PM smiles ear to ear while shaking hands with Pak PM abroad.)

We must control population which is a deterrent in the nation development. (Umpteen number of government people have said it time and again. But Hindus do not get ration for the third child and those who produce unlimited children and refuse to control population are further given reservations and even financial help with the money paid by those Hindus who do family control for nation development!)

Indian Constitution must be respected. (But we would make constitutional changes for giving Muslim reservations!). Human rights must not be violated (only of Kashmiri Muslims! Hindus, army and police in Kashmir have no human rights?).

There are many such statements made by many administrative, political and NGO people. We all come across such doublespeak again and again. These are more than just paradoxical sentences and behaviour. These are intentional double games. Such double games are played for obvious gains-political, financial, and social or whatever the case may be. Saying one thing in public, saying another thing in private, doing yet another thing in public and doing still another thing in private have become an unwritten rule to be politically successful of late.

No. We are not discussing the issue of ethics or truth here. In today Kaliyug, these things perhaps make sense only for a few people. What we are speaking of here is what we all have been noticing for last many years. Such double games have only one truth behind them-greed and gain! Political, financial or whatever.

Bharat has a unique peculiarity. Bharat waits much longer than any other country for good things to happen. People in Bharat have intrinsic faith not just in Bhagwan but also in goodness within human beings. Therefore, instead of concluding anyone remarks as untrue or dishonest, Bharat waits and gives time to all those to make those good things happen. In 1947 when Bharat became independent from the British Raj, the then ruling party promised good governance. Bharat waited much longer. That party ruled for almost 30 years. Bharat waited for Hindu progress because the worse affected during British Raj and even before in Muslim Raj was Hindu! From work to trade and from temples to various laws-everything that was Hindu, was demolished. Few Hindus were doing well due to local reasons, but as a whole, Hindu was in a total bad shape. Shadow of Partition wounds was there (is still there on Hindus in Bharat and in Pak!), but Bharat waited. After 30 years, Bharat woke up to the fact that there was no point in only helplessly watching churches grow at the cost of Hindus, Muslims get more and more concessions that too at the cost of Hindu pockets, Hindu monuments and temples being called disputed lands_ Bharat woke up. Bharat realised that poverty eradication, green revolution etc were slogans. Few people poverty was eradicated, but that flow did not reach the common man.

Bharat has been watching this double game. Now the Home Minister speaks of jihadi camps in Pak using all those jihadi organisations names. When people like me or many such said the same thing in past few years and were trying to alert Bharat of their dirty jihadi plans, the same government slapped cases against me and on many! Bharat knows this. Bharat also is waiting for the final conclusion of the case. Some NGOs shouted from the rooftop about Gujarat police inaction, inadequate investigation and even after Gujarat HC acquitting the Hindus, due to these NGOs they were reinvestigated and retried by other state officials and judiciary. Now again disbelieving in the own judicial system, would the higher judicial authorities take suo motu note of the strictures passed by the Mumbai Special Court on the police about insufficient investigations and would the Supreme Court show the same unbiased glory of transferring the case for reinvestigation and retrial to the other state? Would those same NGOs, political leaders and media show their so-called secular glory now demanding this? Doubtful, huh? This is what I called the double game!

Bharat is watching! A very brave lady, very gracefully said, “I sure am in pain due to my brave husband death at the hands of the terrorists from Pak. But only hanging Kasab is not satisfactory. These Kasabs come from Pak and unless the government takes tough action against Pak, my martyr husband and I would not be happy because Bharat would be still unsafe otherwise.” Such brave remark is made by the martyr Vijay Salaskar brave wife. The brave Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan father too said, “I lost my son and we do not have anyone to look up to but if Pak is taught a tough lesson then my son martyrdom has a meaning.” Bharat is watching! Such sacrificing people make Bharat. Only hanging Kasab is not enough. He should not even get a chance of appeal or mercy because as per our Constitution these are rights only for Indian citizens. He and Afzal Guru must be hanged immediately. Perhaps government would do so promptly with Kasab, but without attacking Pak (another diplomatic and vote greed double game!) but at the same time government would slap more and more cases on Hindus and Hindu organisations! Political balancing for votes is more important these days than safety of Bharat. But Bharat is watching all the double games!

Instead of fighting terrorism, UPA is busy inventing Hindu terror

Forget BPL, talk only IPL May 02,2010

WHEN did you recently pay your electricity bill? Check on the bill and you will find a small print of service tax on it. Meaning, if you have Rs 100 as electricity bill, then you have to pay 15 per cent as government electricity duty above that, each state has around 15 to 20 paise electricity sell charges per unit above the bill amount. So, for your actual usage of Rs 100 worth electricity, you pay Rs 150 approx. If you send money order through post office even of Rs 100, you have to pay 5 per cent extra for sending, so you end up paying Rs 105. This is what aam aadmi has to pay in many areas. This aam aadmi is not some alien dropped on our mother earth by a space shuttle from Mars! He/she lives in Bharat, works hard, around 30 per cent of them cant even eat food twice a daythey get just a label by government as BPL Below Poverty Line. This BPL aam aadmi is already suffering due to out of reach prices of basic food items. Education, medical treatment, house etc are things not even in his dreams. Then there is middle class aam aadmianother majority in Bharat. They too work hard in various intellectual and supporting areas of the nation to develop the nation and yet pay 40 per cent of their salary in tax. Of late, even they cant afford basic food items, best medical treatment, and good education for their children. Housing loan rates are so unsteady that they cant even think of their own home. And then there are a limited number of people who have loads of money. They do not fall under aam aadmi category. Businessmen, industrialists, film personalities, most politicians, most officers etc come under this category. Some of them do pay taxes. Do not mistake me as a communist who speaks of clichéd haves and haves-not; I am simply referring to the immediate needs of the nation vis-à -vis fancy money games. I also do not mean to say that people should not play sports. Coming from the Sangh, I do appreciate the importance of sports that make body and mind healthy.

But there is a vast difference between healthy sports which all of us enjoyeven the BPL and middle class aam aadmi has that entertainment. But when such popular sports are used to play games with each other using money and political power, it becomes the dirty game and the first wicket falls that is of aam aadmi! In spite of he using electricity only of Rs 100, he pays so many taxes on that and those IPLites despite using huge national resources for publicity and other activities are exempted from various taxes in the name of an eyewashoh! This is a popular game among the poor and middle class, they come to watch this gameso tax exemption. Really? Such exploitation of mass interest is not only disgusting but it is blatant cheating of all aam aadmis who pay their sweat and blood money in taxes!

The most disgraceful is that instead of standing against this blatant cheating meted out to aam aadmi, most politicians and media waste nation time and electricity in debates on which politician has what stakes in which team and where has that money come from! People of Bharat have elected each MP and MLA to protect aam aadmi interests; not winning Parliament or assembly debates. What a minister should do and what a businessman should do and how are the issues to discuss, but is there anybody caring for aam aadmi tragic plight? Aam aadmi is dying under tax and price burdens. Corruption and misuse of power are of course important issuesbut only after every Indian has enough food to eat and after ensuring that aam aadmi pockets are not cut in the name of taxes while millionaires are enjoying various tax exemptions.

This issue is not limited only to IPL. It happens with many high profile events and people. But ignoring or ridiculing something that is so basic does not mean that basic thing does not exist. The most important aspect of it is that Hindus are 82 per cent in Bharat: a majority who pays taxes. From education to jobs and from bank loans to tax exemptions aam Hindu has been facing discriminatory treatment. He works hard, he pays taxes and others enjoy their life on aam Hindu taxes. This is shameful and serious. It is a violation of basic human courtesy to aam Hindu. When it is inconvenient to the governments they do not keep columns in the forms to mention religionlike in Income Tax, Sales Tax. Because they know that Hindus in Bharat surely would ask through RTI as to how much tax Hindus pay, how much tax certain minorities pay and how much in return Hindus get and how much in return those minorities (who these days brag that they are the second largest majority in Bharat!) get. It is high time that we all took note of such basic simple but most significant misappropriation of funds by all governmentsfunds that are paid by all of us as taxes.

How to do so? File an RTI application demanding the classification of taxes paid by Hindus and non-Hindus, benefits given to Hindus and non-Hindus, tax exemptions given to tax-payers and non-tax-payers. One can even include in it the entertainment tax exemption beneficiaries info. Just because some sports are popular, should they be exempted from tax? Instead, why cant government make it compulsory to IPLites to cap the ticket prices? Why should My Name is Khan be tax free, just because it justifies jehadi terrorism and is made by a Khan? More popular are the temples and gurudwaras. Is electricity to them tax exempt? Are they given water free? More popular is dal-roti, sugar. Government has no shame in increasing their prices. But tax exemption to IPL because it is popular! What kind of a shameless logic is this? If we aam Hindus do not raise these issues then there is a danger that these would set precedence and later on such blatant misappropriation of our tax money would become a practice and then lawsame as today minority reservation is being forced on to Bharat as law!

Beware of the larger conspiracy and stand up. This is the only thing we must do at this moment rather than helplessly watching TV debates on whose money which politician friend used and whose phones which department taped. It is aam Hindu only who can stop this misuse of democratic systems and let begin by a simple basic RTI application as to how much tax was paid in past 10 years by Hindus? How much tax was paid in past 10 years by Muslims and Christians? How much worth benefits Hindus got and how much worth benefits Muslims and Chiristians got/are promised? We can even include all entertainment stuff in it asking for usage of national resources like electricity, water, roads by IPL, cinema, media and taxes paid by them.

At any cost, nobody should survive at the cost of aam aadmi. No IPL at the cost of BPL!

Social dimensions of Kumbh April 2010

MANY religious and spiritual happenings and events take place in Bharat and in many other countries. Bharat being the most ancient place and Hindu being the most ancient dharma, obviously, the spiritual events in Bharat have been taking place for ages together. Kumbh is the unique spiritual event in Bharat that has not only religious and spiritual connotations but also has a very significant social dimension which is not seen and felt anywhere in the world. Of course, most religious-spiritual occasions in Bharat have social aspects attached to them; but the social dimensions of Kumbh have unique grandeur and much larger the significance.

During any Kumbh the most significant social aspect is seen and felt by all is that millions of people from Bharat and the world come together at that one spot of the Kumbh. It is believed that this year Haridwar Kumbh so far has been attended by around four crore people and towards the end, there would be yet many more for the last pious bath in Maa Ganga. We are not discussing here the religious aspects of the Kumbh. Even as a society this is the only occasion in the world when so many people come together for so long and nobody knows or bothers about caste, region or language of the person bathing in maa Ganga next to oneself! In modern terms it may be called a melting pot; but it is much more than that. In a country infested by politicians misusing religions, castes, sub-castes, languages and regions -the phenomenon of bathing in Maa Ganga together, eating in the tents, camps together without even bothering to check other person caste, region, language etc is a grand social success of Kumbh going on for ages! They are one. They are all sons and daughters of Maa Ganga!

It is a totally focused large-very large group full of a specific objective. All want to do darshan, poojan of Maa Ganga and bathe in Maa Ganga pious waters on pious days. Here is another magnificent socio-historical aspect of the Kumbh: For ages together and for generations together, from the remotest part of southern Bharat to the extreme North East of Bharat and from all other places, without any invitation, people have been coming for various Kumbh be it Haridwar, Prayag, Ujjain or Nasik. On that specific day of transition of the Sun into a particular Raashi, millions of people from millions of places from Bharat simply are there! How do they exactly know when and where to go? Today there is mass media, written panchangs etc. When all this was not there in ancient times, yet they were attending Kumbh! This is the intrinsic inherent strength of Hindu tradition knowledge, social and spiritual values and behavioural patterns are handed over to the next generations in a unique socio-spiritual way.

Modern sociology may not even be able to analyse yet another only one about the Kumbh. There are many sects and sub sects of followers of Sanatan Dharma, Jain, Bouddha, Sikh, etc. There are many branches of these and there are specific rules of their own spiritual behaviour. But in Kumbh, they all come, stay in the tents, eat in the tents and camps and bathe in the same one Maa Ganga! No boundaries limit their connectivity with all others in Bharat!

This time there were people even from Pakistan who in spite of brutal atrocities on them there, yet are following their Sanatan or Sikh traditions. They bathed in Maa Ganga, recalled their ancestor better days in the areas they have been living and hoped for the best. And even from Bharat, right from those whose living depends on daily wages or on toiling in someone else farm or on a rough construction work or dusty, smoky mines etc to those who live comfortable lives in AC houses and cars and dont travel anywhere without a specific level of stay and food arrangement-All are in the Kumbh-staying on the banks of Maa Ganga, eating in the camps, tents, walking long distances… All this without a word of complaint about any hardship! This bonding they have with Maa Ganga automatically transcends to everyone there and creates an invisible but heartfelt warm connection among all. This is a unique social phenomenon and is worth studying by sociologists.

There is a varied mix and blend of the poorest of poor and simple rural people who carry their potli on their head and somehow reach the Kumbh. With great focus they bathe in Maa Ganga, participate in the Kathas that are going on there and do Maa Ganga Aartis. There are also modern youths wearing pair of Jeans and fancy T-Shirts. They too with equal focus and devotion bathe in Maa Ganga without bothering at all about their well groomed hair or any such things. Those, who-as a fashion-keep on saying that today youth is not interested in anything Hindu or religious-must see all this with their own eyes. All these millions of people walk, talk, eat on the banks of Maa Ganga, bathe in Maa Ganga and sleep wherever they get place and all this with a great surreal joy in their eyes-they look as if they have just one soul among all of them and that is of a son or daughter of Maa Ganga! That eternally flowing pious water we all respectfully call as our Maa Ganga connects and bonds millions of people there. What a social integrity that is!

There is yet another extremely unique social phenomenon in the Kumbh. Almost 98 per cent people who come to Kumbh get free food. Nobody asks for money, nobody pays for food and all this happens with such an ease as if they all are family members and are at their home… yes, they are! They are with their mother Maa Ganga. But nowhere in the world around 4 crore people eat free like this. Most importantly, although there is such a huge crowd, there is no typical mob mentality. This itself defies all set definitions of modern secular sociology. Huge crowds are there but almost no crime! No murder, no rape, no violence! They walk so much to reach Kumbh and then to reach Maa Ganga, but no fights! In metro-cities even in the posh high-brow cine-halls in a small ticket buying line too people crib and quarrel! Here in Kumbh, so many people wait patiently to bathe in Maa Ganga or to eat. But to squabbles! The very synergy that they have in spite of diverse castes, languages, regions, food preferences etc is that they all are there in the Kumbh with just one objective – bathing in Maa Ganga!

An interesting socio-economic aspect of the Kumbh too is important. When around 4 crore people come to Kumbh, obviously local people in the Kumbh place get work and employment. Recently there was a volcanic eruption in Iceland and they immediately started Volcano Tourism. They bragged that the largest number of tourists visited to see that Volcano. How many was that largest? 10,000! Here we are speaking of millions of people in Kumbh. It generates a great deal of local employment and that too without marketing it as Spiritual Tourism!

A lot of pure soul sharing happens in the Kumbh. It is not only limited to food, shelter in the tents and bathing in Maa Ganga, but also of thoughts and experiences. Some known, some strangers-all meet in the Kumbh. They get an unique opportunity to share their thoughts with others from other parts of Bharat. Knowledge is gained and imparted too. Experiences are shared. Sants are there to guide but even the common people interact with each other so beautifully! And the tradition continues… The civilization gets enriched! Millions, billions of Yugas these people and their ancestors have been attending Kumbh at specific places… without any invitation! They go there with the feeling of oneness with Bharat as sons and daughters of Maa Ganga and carry a lot back to cherish and hand over to their next generations. This invisible but soulful and heartfelt bond is what makes Bharat a real Civilization… Some years back Tughlak attacked and killed thousands of Sants and Sadhus in Prayag Kumbh. Kumbh did not stop! Tughlaks and his types later on had to leave Bharat. Taking clue from those attacks, Naga Sadhus and other Akhadas started getting prepared for any such Jehadi attacks. This is a socio -spiritual strength that Bharat has which links each however small a village in Bharat to the other. This bond connects all cutting across castes, languages, regions etc. Whatever efforts political parties, seculars etc would do to divide Bharat on such flimsy parameters; they will never succeed because this intrinsic socio-spiritual bond in Bharat is stronger than any might.

We all need to look into these intriguing social dimensions of Kumbh and nurture this focused, synergetic very large group one-ness bond to make Bharat socio-politically stronger to take on the modern day challenges and menaces coming in from the modern day Tughlaks! We also must, in out hearts and minds, celebrate the joy of this ancient strong link that ties us all happily and gives all of us a stable sense of belonging!

A political budget that cheats the commoner

By Dr Pravin Togadia March 2010

IN the history of post-British Bharat past 63 years nobody had slapped on Bharat such an anti-Bharat, anti-Hindu, anti-poor, anti-farmer, anti-women, anti-youth, anti-lower middle class, anti-middle class budget ever! There were bad budgets, there were lame budgets, there were ineffective budgets, and there were no budgets! But such an openly announced political and anti-Bharat budget? Never! That too at the time when from educated youth to middle class housewives, from labourers to farmers, from students to small traders, from road-side foodstall wallahs to door-to-door vegetable sellers, from train traveller to bus traveler-all have been reeling under tremendous hikes in prices of almost everything! The shamelessness does not stop at the nature of the budget, the minister whom we all respect so much for his pro-Bharat, pro-Hindu stands many a times, perhaps due to Sonia Gandhi irrational internationally motivated pressure, our veteran, erudite and brilliant Finance Minister even made an announcement in one of the prominent financial newspapers on the front page: “I get a back-up from civil servants and economists, but I am a political activist. And my budget is essentially a document that follows our political ideology.” Here the catch!

In a democratic country, annual budgets are supposed to be made for the public well-being and not to promote anybody political ideology. However sincere, art-loving, well-meaning, intelligent, visionary, etc, our Finance Minister may be but the political party he belongs to has messed up Bharat for a long time and now even has dirty designs to finish Bharat strength: Bharat common man on whose name they asked for votes. Even in the justification of raising prices of essential food items like milk, sugar, pulses and vegetables their deception is seen clearly. On one page of the Economic Survey they say-prices went up due to global economy and global fuel price hike. On another page they blame the price hike on low rainfall in Bharat. Yet on another page they even say that imports of food-grains were low therefore prices are high. Political lies can be seen all the time from many political parties during election times and even later in their rules. Common public know it all and discount many such lies as part of netagiri. But as I had said in my earlier article, when any lower middle class or middle class housewife has to see her child crying out of hunger in spite of she and her husband working hard, some of them even paying taxes, then their patience withers away. They can no more tolerate lies that tear their pockets especially to fill up someone else pockets as a vote bank fuzzy math! Under pressure of the ruling political party, even the political science double graduate and a sharp politician Finance Minister has fallen into this trap and has made such a blunder to hurt the largest social chunk of Bharat that henceforth it would be most difficult for this party to face the aam aadmi ever again!

Not that our brilliant politician FM does not know it. Therefore he even tried to create a façade of increasing the limits of taxable income in the hope that the salaried middle class would praise the government. Here the logical fallacy. The same salaried middle class is also an intelligent lot who can see through such cheap gimmicks. This class has realised that the government has cheated them very badly.

If they save around Rs 10,000 in taxes, they would have to pay much more than that for everything due to fuel price hike as it has a spiralling impact on food prices, vehicle usage, their children fees and buses, gas cylinders, rents they pay and what not! So even aam aadmi feels cheated by the budget. Obviously so! The budget which should have a social basis in a country like Bharat, if it has political foundation as the FM admits himself, its fallout is inevitable.

In a planned expenditure outlay of 3.73 lakh crore where Rs 1.37 lakh crore has been kept for infrastructure (and the same time cement and steel have been made expensive in the budget! To benefit whom?), Rs 48,000 crore for Bharat Nirman. Which Bharat is this government speaking of? Farmer has been given direct benefit of 5 per cent loan rate, foreign agriculture machines are made cheaper and at the same time the tractor that he would use would eat up much more of his money in diesel. There is absolutely no provision to protect his other wealth that is his land and his bulls and cows. Farmer has been once again made a total orphan by this budget. Bharat Nirman then becomes just rhetoric and mere rhetoric cannot be a fact! Rs. 40,100 crore for Rahul Baba pet NREGA which claims to give employment to all youth and others in the rural areas. If so, then why Sachar report claims that Muslim youth is unemployed? Does that mean Rahul NREGA does not employ Muslims? Government own reports like these expose Rahul claims. We know that NREGA is a big hollow hangama, otherwise wherever there is this scheme on, farmers would not have committed suicides there at least. It is a big eyewash and some RTI data may even expose more vote bank games from these schemes. This means the money kept for this is all waste. Then comes Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Whose education really is spoken of here? If it is for all then School education Aid would have been much more than mere Rs. 1200 crore! Meaning, this entire money would either go to madarsas, sponsoring IAS classes of Muslim boys and girls, giving funds for Muslim education and the rest would go to Church sponsored education (meaning conversion) activities.

The strangest part is that Rs 2600 crore have been earmarked for Muslims in this budget. Only Rs. 400 crore for Eastern Bharat green revolution where Sundarbans are facing the risk of submerging in the sea! Only Rs. 500 crore for 3000-km-long Maa Ganga cleaning-for 1 km just Rs. Rs 16,000. This is the worst ever mockery of Hindu sentiments! During my Kashi visit, we found out that just a Kapildhara Teerth needs Rs 2 crore for cleaning which has been dirtied by Muslims staying nearby!

The Ganga is a major source of water for most of North even for drinking and irrigation. Along with Hindus, this government has insulted even Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by such small money for the Ganga! Rs. 2400 crore is for the unorganised sector. Many have not given much thought to this. The unorganised sector in Bharat is 98 per cent controlled by Muslims. Fruits, vegetables, large growers, vendors, distributors, hair-cutting salons and individuals, and makers and other religious thing-makers like camphor, sindoor etc, shoe-repairers, labourers in the weaving sector, vehicle repairers, kite-makers, bakers-the list is long. These trades are captured by Muslims, sometimes even snatched from Hindus by force. Coastal area fishing is mostly controlled by Muslims.

Rs. 2400 crore allocation for the unorganised sector is a straight vote bank politics as the FM admits that his budget is political. But 85 per cent majority in Bharat is not idiot. Apart from many existing concessions, quotas for Muslims, open allocation of Rs 2600 crore and this subtle showering of Rs 2400 crore in the name of unorganised sector will not go so well with Hindus and the smart politician FM faltered here. This would hurt his party in Bengal elections as never before and UP and Bihar may not be much different.

Inspiration is within you; Philanthropy is within you
By Dr Pravin Togadia

Crores of Hindus in Bharat and in the world wish to do something for the nation, for nation-building, for character-building and for Hindutva. With compassionate hearts, with pure inspiration in their minds and with a giving power in their hands, they want to do something philanthropic. They are intrinsically generous. But they are busy in their day-to-day life taking care of their families and their businesses. Not all are interested in agitations or activism. Not all can leave their homes for socio-religious cause. They have their worldly responsibilities, but they have a caring mind. They are eager to do a lot but they just do not know what, where, how, to whom.

Now is the time. Some will celebrate their new yearJanuary to December yearsome will do it in Chaitra as Yugadi or Pratipada, some will do it at Bihu as they do in Assam, some already started their new year on Deepavali or on Onam. Time and styles to celebrate new year may differ but most wish to do a sankalp (resolution)a new year resolution. And when the well-meaning compassionate people do resolutions they are done to be fulfilled (not like manifestos by political parties never to be fulfilled!). Some are interested in helping poor children, some wish to do something for the Vanvasis. Some crave to do something to preserve art, culture and heritage of Bharat. Some wish to prevent draining of Bharat natural resources ecologically. Many people hearts go out to the poor old. Some want to help poor widows fending their families in meager means. There are many such fields. What field in which area appeals to whom is a matter of one choice and every choice of a compassionate person matters a lot to the nation.

Every person who has compassion in his/her heart always has a caring mind and giving hands. Albeit busy in the day-to-day activities of life, here are some ideas where you can fulfil your wish to help the nation and to help Hindutva.

Wish to prevent draining of nation natural resources? Our agricultural land was traditionally fertile due to natural fertilizers made of cow progeny waste. Now with chemical fertilizers this fertility is reduced to 1/10th resulting in excess usage of water and no conservation of fertile soil. But usage of cow progeny fertilizer is now down because no-milk cows are becoming difficult to maintain for the poor farmers. You wish to help? I came across many units that manufacture fabulous products made of cow ghee, cow milk, cow dung and gomutra. These products have no trace of any disturbing smell of the raw material and have an excellent feel and results! From shampoo to aftershave, from mosquito coil to cold cream, from beauty soap to dhoop-like puja material.

Many products have such quality that they can beat established multinational brands! You can give a kit of these as a corporate/personal gift; you can resolve to use these this year. I am sure it will save the no-milk cows as even cow wastes can be utilised. You would get organic product, which is friendlier to human body (and you would not go bald like me if you use these shampoos!). There are even stronger tiles made of such material which you can use in your home temple or if you are an architect, you can recommend them to the housing projects.

You wish to preserve art, culture and heritage of Bharat? There are many organisations that hold children painting, singing and essay contests based on topics related to Bharat culture and heritage. Recently we held such a painting competition for children where even physically challenged children participated with other children. More than 20,000 children took part in it. Their selected paintings will be made into attractive greeting cards with the child photo. You can send these cards to your friends, suppliers, business associates etc. There are many people who are doing a lot to make people aware of unexplored ancient temples, teerthas, kundas (holy lakes) in places like Kashi, Prayag, etc. Explore Kashi Project, which found over 500 unexplored exquisite magnificent ancient temples in and around Kashi, which were once worshipped by our ancestors! From Surya temples to Gotra Rishi Shiva Lingas to 56 Vinayakas to enigmatic Devis, from ever-giving many manifestations of Vishnu and Laxmi. Even if you resolve to visit one of these temples or visit www.explorekashi.com you would do a great help to preserve the Hindu heritage. Beautiful new year calendars are being made of such unexplored temples and by sending them to your clients/friends, you would help preserve those. There are some well-maintained museums in Bharat. Whenever you travel for your business or holiday, if you make it a point to spare half an hour to visit and see one in the city where you are, it is also a great tribute. If you are a business house, you can even adopt such an ancient temple and recommend your friends to visit it. All these are the symbols of our great religion and if we do not frequent these then obviously they will be encroached upon.

Your heart goes out to the poor families, hungry children and poor old people? There are Vanvasi schools, Hindu orphanages, programmes like Ek Mutthi Anaj where keeping self-respect of the poor families intact you can donate foodgrains to them, you can send the children books and copies. Many Hindu families will surely remember your help for years to come.

There are even small things you can do to help save Bharat water, electricity and other natural resources. Switch off your home/ office lights when not in use; ensure that no water tap is leakingby this you at home/office/factory will be saving gallons of water. Cut your TV-watching time daily only for 15 minutes and you will conserve much energy.

Many a time it so happens that when we are children, we are busy in our studies and do not realise much as to how our parents are toiling for us. When we are young, we are busy in our careers. When we cross 45, we realise that either our parents are no more with us or are quite old, ill. Resolve this year to spend at least half an hour daily with your parents only listening to themthat all they really need. If you have already lost them then help some poor old people get medical treatment, go and read out books to them, get them to listen to the music they like.

These are only a few ideas. All that matters is your inspiration and will to do something for the nation, for the society and for Hindutva. You always wanted to do something. Here are a few somethings. Come, let us together make a difference. Even your mind will be at peace after you do something like this.
