  Total Hindu population here is 65 thousand. VHP was registered two years ago as “Hindu Council of New Zealand” (in ethnic language “Vishwa Hindu Parishad – New Zealand). Immediately after registration, they purchased the old campus of the New Zealand University in Auckland measuring an area of 8.5 acres of land including the buildings and other infrastructure and established Hindu Heritage Centre.

 Established following organizations:-

 2007 – Hindu Social Service Foundation established 

2007  – Hindu Youth Foundation established 

2007  – Hindu Elders Foundation established 

Annual programmes include –

  •  Children Camps
  •  Youth Camps
  •  Family Camps
  •  Celebration of Hindu Festivals
  •  Organising Seminars, Workshops and Conferences


 1st New Zealand Hindu Conference was held on May 12-13, 2007 in Auckland that was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Helen Clarke, Prime Minister of New Zealand. The Conference was a grand success. It was followed by several significant seminars. The Governmental organizations now hold Vishwa Hindu Parishad in high esteem. VHP as an organization is getting increasingly active and influential. The government has given it Charity Status.

 2nd New Zealand Hindu Conference was organised on May 16-18, 2008 at Auckland Hindu Heritage Centre. It was inaugurated by the Maori King of New Zealand.
