‘Dharmashree’ Title Conferred on Ashok Singhal

Ashok Singhal honoured by ‘Dharmashree Award’ at Eshwaramangala, Karnataka – Vishva Samvad Kendra

Sri Ashok Singhal, Senior Sangh Parivar functionary and International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has been facilitated at Eshwaramangala near Mangalore Karnataka Yesterday.

Ashok Singhal recieved DHARMASHREE award from Pejawar Seer Sri Vishweshwa Theertha Swamiji, Ramachandrapur Seer Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. The event was organised by Dharmashree Foundation of Eshwaramangala in connection with in connection with the consecration of the world’s tallest Panchamukhi idol of Lord Anjaneya at Eshwarramangala.

Dharmashree’ award being given annually to those who have rendered meritorious services in the fields of religious, social, and other sectors. Sri Singhal’s name was selected for this years award. In previous years Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji, Rama Jois, and writer, S L Bhyrappa, had received this award.

Senior RSS officials of Karnataka including Dr. Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, (Kshetriya Sampark Pramukh of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka), Kajampady Subramanya Bhat (State Joint Secretary) and several others were present in dais during the ceremony.

Puttur, May 23: On Sunday May 22, Hanuman Theme Park, Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple and Jnana Mandir, which provide glimpse of beautiful carvings on stone in natural ambience, were inaugurated at Eshwaramangala, a village in the taluk that is located on the state’s border with Kerala.

State Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt, Sri Raghaveshwara Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Mutt, and others participated in the programme.

On the occasion, ‘Dharmashree’ title was conferred on Vishwa Hindu Parishad international president, Ashok Singhal. Singhal, while accepting the title with gratefulness, said he was unaware that he had been chosen for this honour. He said that Indian culture shuns self-praise. He urged the people to bring up their children in such a manner that they protect Indian culture when they grow up.

Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, said that worldly possessions are purely transient, and spreading of devotion in villages is the need of the hour. “Our achievements should speak for themselves. Speaking itself should not be our achievement,” he added. He said that with the blessings of the Swamijis, his energy has been fortified, and predicted that his government will henceforth not face any crises.

Sri Raghaveshwara Swamiji, who conferred the title, said righteousness is the wealth of good people, as it can neither be taken away nor robbed. Citing that a lion, irrespective of the gravity of its hunger, never eats grass, he wanted people to imbibe that determination and virtues in their thoughts and action. He also announced on behalf of Dharmashree Foundation that renowned singer, K J Yesudas, has been chosen for ‘Dharmashree’ title next year.

Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt said that the ideals set forth by Lord Rama are like a permanent constitution. He felt that the people and countries which tread the path shown by Lord Rama will never face problems.

Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat welcomed. Kajampadi Subrahmanya Bhat delivered introductory address. Achut Moodittaya proposed the vote of thanks.
