PONDA: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will host a meeting of its international board of trustees from January 4 to 9 at the precincts of the Shree Ramnath Mandir in Ramnathi, Ponda.

Office bearers of the VHP told reporters late Monday evening that the meeting will be attended by 350 domestic and 50 international trustees of the organization.

The issue of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), protection of special powers of armed forces deployed on the international border, providing support to nationalist citizens of J&K, protesting interference of the government in temple administration, protecting Hindu temples in Goa, and countering the allegations of saffron terror, are the other issues to be addressed at the meet, he added.

VHP international president Ashok Singhal, international coordination general secretary Dineshchandra, international general secretary Pravin Togadiya, joint office general secretary Koteshwar Sharma, Vedantamji, Mohanji and Swami Vidnyanandji will be attending the three-day meet.

A yagya (sacrifice) and mahadharmasabha (religious public meeting) will be held at the Engineering College ground at Farmagudi on Sunday. “It will bring together people from all walks of life,” Desai said.
