Purna Kumbha Mela 2013 (Prayag/VHP Camp): Sant Fraternity of Bharat to launch a Maha Jagaran Movement to make the national public awareness of and exercised over issues of Hindu/national interest – ASHOK SINGHAL, PATRON, VISHVA HINDU PARISHAD

New Delhi, Jan. 28, 2013 – The 2013 CE Purna Kumbh Parva at Prayagraj announced its arrival with the First Shahi Snan on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on 14th January. But the Kalp of the Kalpvaasis would take place from 27th January Paush Purnima Snaan through Maagh Purnima Snaan to Maha Shivaratri on 10th March 2013.

The 1966 decision about the countrywide movement for Cow Protection was taken at the Triveni banks itself at Prayagraj (Allahabad) for which cause Ven. Shankaracharyaji and Ven. Prabhudatt Brahmachariji had put even their lives at stake through indefinite fast. Even after giving assurances the Government had gone back on its words. After the revocation of the National Emergency promulgated by the then Prime Minister Smt. Indiraji, the announcement of the national elections coincided with the 1977 Purna Kumbh and the fury of the Sants had removed Indiraji from power.

Following decisions at the 1989 Purna Kumbh, the Ramshila (sacred brick) consecration programmes took place in over 2.75 lakh villages for the cause of Sri Rama Janma Bhumi Temple. The rural populace of Bharat participated in huge numbers in this grand national celebration which took the wave of Sri Rama Janma Bhumi Movement to all rural and urban micro and macro centres and the Hindu society did 06th December and no longer can a mosque be built at the 6th December locale. Similarly in 1982 three major Yatras namely Bharat Mata – Ganga Mata and 350 minor Yatras covered the length and breadth of the country. Over 100 million people participated in these Yatras.

Following a decision at the 1996 Haridwar Kumbh, the Hindu-Sikh Sadbhavana Yatra contributed a lot to the cause of Hindu-Sikh togetherness in Punjab that was suffering from Khalistani terrorism. In the current Purna Kumbh, the main focus would remain on the question of replacing the ‘rag temple’ of Sri Ram Lala with a magnificent Temple of Nativity to Sri Ram Lala at His Birthplace and its allied infrastructure and institutions on the 70 acre land at Ayodhya. The matter of Sri Rama Janma Bhumi can no longer be left to a court decision. A decision in this regard has soon to be taken by the Parliament of Bharat. For this already the Sants have taken a decision to conduct a Maha Jagaran Anushthan in the country for the Temple cause. The Jap of Vijay Maha Mantra “Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram” will be conducted for a month in all the villages of Bharat.

On the occasion of this Purna Kumbh, the Central Margadarshak Mandal meeting will be held on 6th February 2013 that will draw up a comprehensive calendar of activities for the coming days and months. On 7th February at 02.00 P.M. the Dharma Sansad and Sant Maha Sammelan will take place at the campsite of Ven. Jyotishpithadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevananda Saraswatiji Maharaj where all Sants will dilate upon the format and scope of the Maha Jagaran programme and related matters.

There are burning issues before the Hindu society, e.g., In the name of trade, an annual number of about 10 million cows are being slaughtered by the butchers. According to Government estimates, by 2021 CE virtually all the indigenous cows and its progeny in the country would be extinct. Seeing this the Sant Fraternity feels very much wounded and is in rage. The holy river the Yamuna has already been declared a ‘dead river’. The National River Ganga is also going to be condemned to the same ill-fate. The Sant Fraternity is highly exercised over the genuine question of non-stop flow and cleanliness of the Holy Ganga. The reduction in Hindu demography is a matter of great concern for all nationalists.

The census experts say that by 2061 Hindus will be reduced to a minority in ‘Akhand Bharat’ (undivided India), the cause being the acceptance of the ‘Family Planning’ programme by Hindus and its rejection by Muslims and also nevertheless rejection of a ‘Common Civil Code’ by the latter that results in geometric progression in their demography. Other causes for the reduction in Hindu demography are big scale conversions of Hindus by Christians and Islamists, infiltration into Bharat by over 30 million Bangladeshi Muslims and also ‘Love Jehad’ launched by Muslims. The Sant Fraternity and the Hindu society are very much exercised over these issues. Today the Hindu society is facing a great security threat from Jehadi Muslims, Violent Church and the Aggressive Killer Maoists. The life of the people is getting unbearable due to ills like corruption, inflation, economic dependence. It is a great concern for the Hindu society that lakhs of temples have been occupied/acquired by the ‘secular’ or ‘atheist’ Governments. Under such circumstances, the Sant Fraternity cannot remain a mere spectator.

They will, therefore, launch a Maha Jagaran Movement to make the national public awareness of and exercised over these issues. Even as the Sant Fraternity is engaged in the noble activities of Dharmic discourses and austerities, the Congress ‘Vichar Manthan’ – brain-storming session – decided to borrow leaves from the Pakistani book of idioms of discourse on terror which the GOI Home Minister Shinde Sahib parroted as ‘Hindu Terror’/‘Saffron Terror’ and it is a great humiliation of the Hindu society and the Sant Samaj. Keeping these issues in view, the current Purna Kumbh will decide upon a calendar of activities involving millions of people in all nooks and corners of the country.
