VHP to hold 5-day intl meet at Ramnathi

PONDA: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will host a meeting of its international board of trustees from January 4 to 9 at the precincts of the Shree Ramnath Mandir in Ramnathi, Ponda.
Office bearers of the VHP told reporters late Monday evening that the meeting will be attended by 350 domestic and 50 international trustees of the organization.
The main focus of the meeting will be to pressurize the Central government to enact a law to construct the Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya, said Dilip Dessai, a senior member of VHP, Goa.
The issue of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), protection of special powers of armed forces deployed on the international border, providing support to nationalist citizens of J&K, protesting interference of the government in temple administration, protecting Hindu temples in Goa, and countering the allegations of saffron terror, are the other issues to be addressed at the meet, he added.
VHP international president Ashok Singhal, international coordination general secretary Dineshchandra, international general secretary Pravin Togadiya, joint office general secretary Koteshwar Sharma, Vedantamji, Mohanji and Swami Vidnyanandji will be attending the three-day meet.
A yagya (sacrifice) and mahadharmasabha (religious public meeting) will be held at the Engineering College ground at Farmagudi on Sunday. “It will bring together people from all walks of life,” Desai said.
VHP’s international convention to start in Goa on Wednesday

Senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders have landed in Goa for the international convention which will start tomorrow at Ramnathi village, 30km from Panaji.
Various issues including Kashmir, Ramjanmabhoomi and allegations linking terrorist activities with the Hindu religious organizations, would be discussed during the convention, sources said.
The top VHP leaders including its international president Ashok Singhal, International secretary Pravin Togadia, joint secretary Dinesh Singh and others will hold meetings for next two days, though formal inauguration of the convention would be held on January 7.
Around 400 VHP officials from across the globe will be participating in the convention.
