मातृशक्ति विश्व हिन्दू परिषद की संगठनात्मक इकाई है, विश्व हिन्दू परिषद जैसे सामाजिक, धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक संगठन द्वारा कार्य के संदर्भ में महिलाओं के कार्य पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया, इसलिए 20 प्रतिशत महिलाओं की भागीदारी प्रन्यासी मण्डल में हो, इसका निर्णय लिया गया। परिषद की विभिन्न इकाइयों में एक महिला प्रतिनिधि रखा जावे, यह भी निर्णय लिया गया।
